Arthritis doesn't come on suddenly. It sneaks up on you, and it isn't sudden sharp pain, it is aching. You may have slept on your hand or banged it on something, or even worked the hand a little too hard. Try soaking the hand in warm to almost hot water. Take some pain reliever - ibuprofen or tylenol. And you may try massaging your hand. The warm soaks should help relieve some of the discomfort.
