juvenile rheumatoid arthritis?I have been unable to figure out if juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is considered adult rheumatoid arthritis once you become an adult. I was diagnosed at about the age of 13 or 14 and will be 24 in March. I still have RA, it has traveled to other parts of my body, and recently It has moved into my neck. About 8 months ago I had uvitis pretty bad in one eye, which I understand is common in JRA.... So is this still considered JRA or adult RA? Thanks!

basically the same...called JRA if diagnosed in a child.

True it is basically the same.

The big difference is that "long periods of spontaneous remission are typical. Often, JRA improves or goes into remission at puberty. Approximately 75% of JRA patients eventually enter remission with minimal functional loss and deformity."

Most people with RA that starts when they are adults do not see long periods of remission and seldom ever see any. Most can expect functional lost and deformity.
