does high protein/whey protein/supplements intake not advisable to those w/ gout or arthritis?i want to take some high protein supplements, like what bodybuilders do to gain weight or develop muscles but i'm worried about gout or arthritis.

If you have gout you are smart in being cautious about protein intake as high intake from animal proteins will cause gout to worsen.

The good news is that milk and milk products are ok to take if you have gout. Whey is a protein isolated from milk so it would be the best form to take.

Whey protein contains high amounts of lactoferrin, which helps the body heal faster. The high amount of amino acids in whey protein also help push the body towards optimum health quickly so that the immune system can take on and beat the gout faster and easier.

Check your protein labels and the main ingredient should list whey.
