does pevocox help dogs with arthritis or degenerative disease?My dog is a boxer, 13 yrs old. She is having a hard time walking, her hind legs aren't appearing strong anymore, does the medication Prevocox help? Or what can I do to help?

Under no circumstances should you ever give your dog a human medicine unless your vet told you to! A dog's liver and kidneys function differently than humans- they cannot process drugs the same way we do. You could and probably would cause irreparable damage to your dogs internal organs. The glucosamine supplement is good- give 500mg twice a day if your dog is over 50lbs, once a day if under. This will not help with pain initially- but it can improve things after using for a while. Check with your vet about a non steroidal anti-inflammatory like Rimadyl, Deramaxx or Zubrin. I use Rimadyl for my 15+ boston- she acts like she is 2.
