aspirin for dog's arthritis?my doggy is 12 years old, norweigian elkhound, just over 50 pounds. i can tell his joints hurt. he takes a really long time to lie down, and if we go for a walk, he can't go for very long and he's really slow. i give him a gentle massage often, but i'm wondering if a small dose of aspirin or something might help as well.

there are special arthritic drugs for dogs on the market. You should get one prescribed from your vet. A little pain killer can't be all bad but watch out. some dogs have the weirdest of allergies so better be sure.
