These are useful and collceted by Gooarthritis.info!

Please help me decipher my MRI report?History: I have chronic, severe lower back pain. I had a spinal fusion in 2009 and the pain eased up for almost 8 months, and now it's back and it's worse than ever. Please help me decipher this MRI report.

This is what the MRI report says:

Pedicle rod and screw fixation L5-S1 where there is significant spondylolisthesis and endplate degenerative chages. There is loss of disc water at L2-3 and L4-5. There is moderate broad-based disc bulge at L4-5 asymmetric to the right partially effacing the anterior subarachnoid space and contributing to mild narrowing of both lateral neural foramina. Minimal broad-based disc bulge at L3-4 and L2-3. Degenerative facet arthritis lower lumbar spine.

Does this explain the pain I've been having? It hurts to do anything: walk, sit, stand, lie in bed, etc. My life is completely miserable and I'm so depressed about it.

Didn't your doctor give you a follow-up appointment to explain the report to you? Do you think anyone on here has the expertise to correctly interpret the results for you, and if you got an answer, would you believe it? This is much too important for amateurs to answer. Please contact your doctor for an appointment, and make sure that you understand his interpretation before you leave his office. Good luck to you, and I hope you're soon feeling better!
