Any helpful hints about a rabbit with a tumor?

Hi,I did the following:

Any helpful hints about a rabbit with a tumor?Last Monday, when I went to feed my rabbit, I noticed that he couldn't stand up. He also couldn't walk. We took him to the vet. Not seeing anything immediately wrong, the vet suggested that it was probably arthritis, and gave us some anti-inflammatory meds and pain killers.

A couple days later, nothing was better, so we went back to the vet. We found that my rabbit has a tumor on his hip/pelvis, and that is what is inhibiting his use of his right back leg. Does anyone have any experience with a rabbit in this situation? The vet suggested we put him to sleep, because we wouldn't want him to have a "bad quality of life" (he also has arthritis in his back)

Background information...: my rabbit is a dalmation Rex.
he is about 8 yrs old. He was neutered at about 2 years (thats when we got him from the humane society.)

Anything would be helpful. Thanks

well get the tumor removed or get the leg amputated

He's obviosly in pain, I would lay him down, but you had him for 6 years and Im sure that you gave him the best of life. Unless you think that you can put him out of misor by removing the thing, then go ahead. either one is good, I just want him to be happy.

Best Of Wishes
