Has anyone else developed arthritis after taking omeprazole (generic Prilosec)?

waiting for answer. Would be great if you can take a sec and

Has anyone else developed arthritis after taking omeprazole (generic Prilosec)?Took omeprazole for 5 months for chronic heartburn, developed problems in many joints, recently diagnosed with arthritis in my spine, no previous history of arthritis, arthritis is a known side effect of omeprazole.

Wow my husband has an ulcer and he takes prilosec, he does complain about joint problems. Thanks for the info, i'll have to look into it

Arthritis is NOT a side effect of taking omeprazole. Arthritis is an over-activity of your immune system. Please google it. It also runs in families.
GERD can cause esophageal ulcers, which in turn, can turn cancerous. I have the latter and my ulcers were benign (thank God). Gerd also caused me to have laryngitis for 9 weeks.
Please don't spread false rumors; it can be harmful to someone.
My friend's mom died of esophageal cancer. She's a fellow biologist.
