Arthritis Info: Rheumatoid Arthritis and skin problems what is it? Its on bottoms of my feet and palms of my hands.?

Hi,I did the following:

Rheumatoid Arthritis and skin problems what is it? Its on bottoms of my feet and palms of my hands.?First Dr's said it was caused by the Humira I used for the RA. but I've stopped the Humira and finely Dr got the right creams and it cleared up but as soon as I stopped using the cream it comes back worse then before. So Dr thinks it maybe just a symptom of my RA. Has anyone else had or even heard of this? And what is it that is only on the bottoms of feet and palms of hands!? What can I do? and Dr has guessed everything from caused by meds to psoriasis to rash to eczema and now he thinks its one of my RA symptoms. I need help PLEASE!
Thank you for your replys. I do see one of the best Rheomatology Dr. in Dallas TX. and I do have RA I have the markers in my blood. I had been on Humira for 4 yrs. with no problems. this rash (or what ever it is) has been with me for 5 months. I will ck into the sugar because I do eat a lot of that. but any idea why just bottom of feet and hands?

RA is an autoimmune disease. Did he perform a blood test to confirm RA? You should see a specialist such as an endocrinologist or hematologistt. Search castleconnelly.com for a top doc in your area. You can search for free and it will provide a short list vs. paying for the complete list. Look specifically for a doc whose speciality favors RA. Look into following a Candida Free diet. Do you eat a lot of sugar, white rice, bread and pasta? If so, you must eliminate. Search emily kane's website.

Well it does sound like it's probably not a humira side effect (never been on humira, so I can't say for sure, but even just showing up 3.5 years in strikes me as a little odd.)
I know that some kinds of RA are associated with Psoriasis, but psoriatic arthritis is usually seronegative (i.e. would not show rheumatoid factor on a blood test.)
The only rashes I can find that are typically limited to just hands and feet are types of eczema, which you said your doc had ruled out (though that doesn't mean you couldn't have something else in an a-typical location.) If it's a direct side effect of the RA I would expect that when your RA is controlled the rash also disappears/shrinks. Is this the case, or have you had occasion to notice? Have you been tested for allergies to other things that might be causing it (particularly anything you started using/eating recently?)

Ultimately, of course, we can't diagnose you over the internet. You can try the sugar thing, but I wouldn't expect too much of it. Most foods are converted into sugar in your body anyway. I'm not saying that the sugar thing definitely has nothing to do with it, just that I don't think it's as likely as, say, food-allergies or irritants. If nothing else, you have a cream that works. It may be a nuisance to use all the time, but you have it under control.
