Hi. It is very common for Celiacs to have secondary autoimmune diseases such as RA. In fact, if what they say is true, what they are saying is possibly as yoru body heals from the damage done by gluten (by u strictly following the Gluten FRee diet) that in time you may slow down the arthitis problems. It may not completley go away bc it is also an age related illness, but the GF diet may help it substantially. Untreated CD can lead to things like RA bc for years your body does not get the nutrients and calcium it needs. Celiacs are more likely to have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis to, so body scans are important for Celiacs at early stages than other women.

Hope that helps but its actually a good thing! It means perhaps the GF diet will help your symptoms! How long have u been GF? Best of luck! Feel free to email me!
