Arthritis Info: is chest pain a symptom of lupus arthritis or any ana disease?

Hi,I did the following:

is chest pain a symptom of lupus arthritis or any ana disease?

-?
Lupus can cause pleurisy so yes it can cause chest pain. However you usually have a number of other lupus symptoms too.

If you go to our website there are all the other symptoms listed: http://www.lupus.org.uk/whatislupus/whatislupus_generalfeatures.htm

We also have a lupus nurse online that will answer further questions you might have.

Chest pain or angina is a common symptom of about 15,000 different problems. You would have to narrow it down a bit. For instance, are you in an age category/high risk category for Congestive Heart Failure? Does the pain radiate (in other words have you had a heart attack), is it difficult to breathe?

The word ANA stands for anti nuclear antibody. This is a test not a disease. It is a non specific test which MAY indicate that you have an auto immune disease like Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (there is no disease called Lupus arthiritis...arthritis is one of the symptoms of Lupus.

Chest pain can be associated with Lupus however there is most likely a million other things that they would check first unless you have other symptoms of Lupus.
